I can only comment on the two HK's above even though your list was longer. The 14205 is heavy and tough. It is in the class with a BKC 520. The G-10 was a little hard and slippery, but they've probably fixed that in the last couple of years. The 14210 is the HK answer to the Mini-grip. If I used small knives like those, I would buy another 14210. It has a nice machined G-10 handle that is big enough to accomodate an XL sized man's hand...including the little finger. The HK's I've had are winners. -fj ********************** ********************** “If you want a new idea, read an old book.” |

I have been looking at a Blitz and another Axis Tanto with the partial aluminum scales 3.4" (14250). At first I did not like that Tanto shape but it seems to have grown on me and I noticed that the Blitz is different than the Stryker. I thought they were the same size etc. I hear it’s smoother than the Nitrous. I love the Nitrous, so better is ….well better.
I agree Joe, the 14210 is the best under 3”. Rx, a pink pimped 14250 huh?? Paul B- That counts as two. Who can resist the 14205? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Dr Forthington Pringles, |

I love the 1 I have... got me EDCing again. It also got me buying knives again. 3 in the past week non ar HK... just ones that I had been eyeing up.
I would call my 14205 my woods knife. It's big enough to handle anything you can dish out to it. The best part is that it is nice enough to EDC. ********************************************************************* Benchmade 530SBK, 710S, 5000, 14205 in 154CM. 806SBK-901 as my new EDC work knife. Well, only two, but another BT is "supposedly" on the way--that's another whole b*$ch thread.
Anyway, I've been thinking that I really need a 14210 too. As for the HKs in general, here's my take: This is the best value BM offers. Forget about the Grip, Vex, etc. Sure, they are great knives, but for marginally more that a D2 Grip and somewhat less than a Ritter Grip, you can get a G10 handled, beefy 154 CM blade in a knife with thick, substantial, full liners. I've used my 14255 (which has a blade that looks like a shark, BTW) hard the past couple of days tearing up some old flooring and putting down new vinyl sheet. No problem. I dare somebody to break one using it hard. Frankly I don't think it could be done unless they purposefully tried to break the Axis mechanism or something like that. Darn things are tanks. BTW, the 14205 is one of my top three favorite knives. |
