I have an HK 14205. One of my favs (I think I say that for most of my Benchmade's) . Anyway, the G-10 scales on the right side near the clip is slightly separated from the liner. You notice it when holding it up to the light. Anal, I know. I snugged down the screws on the clip and scales to no relief. The separation is about ½ “ long and maybe two sheets of paper thick in the separation from the liner.
I know a thread on this forum solved it by switching clip sides. Not an option. Just wondering.

Anyone else with this issue?
What did you do about it?

Thanks Crew.

Although you think you are being anal about it, I don't think Benchmade Repair would. Thay would take it seriously. Send it back in with a note that the scales are warped and a description of the location and symptom.

I reread that. It is on your clip side. Mine was on the other side. A set of screws in the holes on the side with no clip worked for me but it sounds like you need to sned that one in.

Repair update.
HK 14205 came back from its trip to BKC. They replaced the G-10 on both sides. I guess every batch of G-10 comes out a different shade as I saw on someone’s blue Rift thread. The G-10 they used is a darker black. Like a richer color and a better feel to it as well. It’s like a knife you see in the catalogs. It’s friggen perfect. It’s smoother (yes I guess that’s possible) sharper than before (lifesharp). The liners even look brighter. The knife was only a few weeks old when I sent it in.

OK, so they forgot to put the clip back on when they returned it. I’ll trade that for the extra special HK any day. It’s not as if they won’t send me one. I should listen to you guys more often. It was this thread that convinced me to send it in. Wish I could take pics.

Thanks BKC & BKC Forumites.

Congrats Doc.

Interesting how different G-10 can look but it's made in batches, similar to glass bottles. Adjust the formula a little + or - and you get variations.

When you get the photo thing worked out, a pic or two would be great!

You think that you can post any pictures of this Doc? I'd be interested to see the contrast if you could put it side by side with another model...
