Dear Benchmade Community,

We don't allow requests to change the handles (even if you are asking for a color that is available in another standard production knife), scales, liners, pivot screw or change blade styles (551 blade to a 553 blade for example) on warranty items sent in to us (owned products). You can however authorize a purchase to change a blade from BK to Satin, and in most circumstances we'll switch out clips.

Very recently we introduced a new feature where you can customize your Griptilian. This will in no doubt be a stepping stone in offering more product customizing features in the future in the event that it proves popular.

Thank for being a part of an ever growing community of Benchmade knife enthusiasts.

FAQ- Q. Can I customize my Griptilian or other model when I send it in for warranty service?

I doubt that. That would be too good to be true. I'm still waiting for a handle color other than green.

BM has made many colors of Al in limited editions...but I want Anodizied Ti! Id buy 3 each in solid Blue,Purple, green, Gold..and more in diferent G-10 or CF.

Maybe Dingo can let us know what colors can be anodized out of Ti...he does some wicked cool jeweling with multi colors.

The spectrum for Ti goes like this, from least amount of current/heat to the most:

Gold-Purple-Blue-Light Blue-Light Gold-Light Green-Rose/Pink

After that there aren't really colors. Aluminum you can anodize any color you want because you usually use a dye unless I'm mistaken. I've never anodized Al before tho, but I have read about it.

How about just being able to BUY new hardware? The bronze colored heat treat on two of my Gold Class knives (the only 2 GCs I have with the bronze colored heat treat) can be rubbed off with a finger... you can see my thumb print worn out on the clip, ridges and all.

I've already swapped out that clip for a black nickel clip that was an extra sent to me for a GC Kulgera. Having a finish that rubs off with your fingers isn't attractive on a knife with a $600 retail.

I'm sure you guys would rather sell me some new hardware than have me send my knife in every month or so to have the hardware replaced.
