Hi,

Once again, it's time for Blade Atlanta and the annual Benchmade lunch. The event is being coordinated by "OUCH" who will donate one of his Benchmade knives for a free drawing. The lunch will be on Saturday May 30th.

Please e-mail him at peteconway00@yahoo.com so he can assure adequate seating. OUCH will respond to you with further details.

Hey guys, I spoke with Pete at NRA yesterday (he's helping out at the KnifeRights booth) and he said I'm the only one to (successfully) RSVP so far.

Part of that may be because his email address has two zeros in it - not O's. I cut & pasted so mine got through.

Others may have just not gotten around to it yet. He could really use an approximate head count so if you think you might be going let him know.

It'll be the usual 'Meet at the Benchmade booth just before 11:00am on Saturday' thing, btw.

Well it is pretty complicated.

Basically, a bunch of us meet up at the Benchmade booth at BLADE just before 11:00 on Saturday. We wonder over to a nearby restaraunt and take over a big table and have lunch, swap stories, share knives, and just have fun. Les DeAsis and a couple of other Benchmade folks come along and often buy everyone's lunch. Since I only seem to make it every other year I can't promise you a free lunch, but I can promise you a fun one.

In 2007 I had my 780 with me and we got Les to talk about that project. He asked what I had paid for mine and because my good dealer at the time only had it because I had asked them to get it when it was announced they sold it to me for what the street price would have been. Which was, according to Les, less than he had paid for that knife.

So not only to you get to put faces to some of your invisible friends here, you get to spend some personal time with the big Benchmade folks, and you get to just generally have a great time.

If you're going to be at BLADE you should RSVP and join us. Spouses are welcome, of course.

Sounds great!

Not too late to chime in - Pete just needs to let the place we're going know how big a crowd to expect.

I won’t be in attendance but after Steve’s description it sounds like something really worth going to. Not only the Blade Show but the lunch alone sounds worth it.

Thanks Steve and Tique and all the rest of you folks. For added interest I'll be bringing along some unique older & newer B-S USA, PCC & BM balis to display. No, none of them are for sale, sorry. I'm known as a buyer, not a seller !!! :=) Don't forget the BM knife drawing --- it's from my personal collection (this is a "freebee") no cost to participate, just show up for the lunch and have fun.

Pete
