Benchmade Nominated for Three Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence Awards

The Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence has selected three new Benchmade products as top in their product category

585 Mini-Barrage Folder
The 585 Mini-Barrage Folder is selected as one of the top three in the Knife of the Year category. Many consider Benchmade's patented AXIS® lock to be the strongest locking mechanism on the market, and the addition of a spring assist allows for quicker deployment. The combination of strength and speed make the Mini-Barrage an instant Benchmade classic. Other key features include 100% ambidextrous function, reversible carry clip and 154CM blade steel. Proudly made in the U.S.A.

1100-4 Tactical Pen
The 1100-4 Tactical Pen is chosen as one of the top three in the Self-Defense Product of the Year category. This pen is definitely mightier than the sword. With an ergonomic knurling pattern and fluted body, this dual-purpose stainless steel pen provides superior grip and comfortable texturing. The 1100 pen is proudly made in the U.S.A. and features ink cartridges manufactured for Benchmade by Fisher Pen Company.

Houdini AET keychain
Finally, the Houdini AET keychain is selected as top three in the Safety Product of the Year category. The Houdini AET ("Automotive Escape Tool") features a U-shaped cutting blade designed for cutting seat belts, a spring loaded glass breaker, a 5-lumen LED light, and a signal whistle that is audible for up to ¼ mile. All of this has been efficiently fit into a keychain, attaching to a key ring via a blade safety cap.

+1 on the 585. Handles aren't bad at all and the thing is rock solid. I'd vote for it too!
