I contacted dealers in my area and they are going to be way above the stated MSRP. They said they would sell them only for $299. I passed on that price. I just hope that some will be avaliable for close to retail. If any of you are getting 2 plaese keep me in mind. I would like PE but would take a serrated one.

Woo Hoo..Got a call from a dealer today, said mine was on order and quoted me a price.
Funny thing about it I had called and talked with my regular dealer he knew nothing about it and acted like he didnt want to try! So I called another dealer that I have never had any dealings with, told him what I wanted .He told me the girl that handles the ordering was on vacation but he would see what he could do.Like I said he called first thing this morning and told me it was ordered and the price.. Good start to my day..

Interesting about the price. Mine is MSRP (thanks to living in CA, I'll be paying a nice $22 in sales tax on top of that). I heard back from another dealer today who said if he can get one, it would be $185. Seems to be pretty dealer dependent...

Check some other dealers, even if not in your area many will ship one to you.

Also get on the list with the "big" dealers. What will happen is some will pass, or have gotten them from another source. Many of the bigger boys MAY actually be selling below MSRP also.

Well...all I could think about last night was if I should try and secure one of these before they are all spoken for. It's a little more than I wanted to pay, but I know I'm going to kick myself if I don't get one.

So, I called around and finally got my name on a wait list. In the process, I found out a bit of info that I wanted to pass along. The premimum dealer I spoke to said that the Benchmade Representative on the phone told them they might increase them to 500 pieces of each plain edge and serrated due to demand. This might be good news for others trying one. Also, the serrated versions will be out in a few weeks, with the plain edges coming out in about two months from now.

Again, this info is from a premimum dealer so if anyone can confirm it while makeing their own calls that would be great.

Ugh..I don't like any of that.

I wish they had just done 300 or 500 of plain edge and left it at that. If there is going to be a 1000 of these things floating around I might change my willingness to pay full retail.

Yah, I've made some calls. Cali is gonna be tough, just because of the density of dealers and shops. Most of them said they'd be lucky if they got one. Many will not even take my name and #

I got word from Roger that the 8 he had would be sold at $199.99 each..
