I came to the forum for tips on sharpening, and made some good friends. I'll still visit the Knives forum regularly to talk knives and tools and sharpening.
I also really enjoyed open-chit chat, and will sorely miss it. That was some good stuff and it truely felt like a "community." Many other knife forums are too big and too diverse for my taste. Truthfully, this is the only "place" I hang out. But if many of you "forumites" I have come to know over the past few years start hanging out somewhere else, somebody shoot me a pm and let me know, OK?
