How do you like it? Is it really worth the money. I want one only because it says Blue Class This may sound picky, but how does it write?

i don't have one, but i do use the fisher space pens.

they are decent writers, but not comparable to higher end pens. i like them because i'm left handed and they do not smudge as easily as normal ink.

if you look around you can pick up a fisher "military" space pen for around $10, which would be a cheap way to see if you like it. i can pm you a link if you want.

Just got my pen...

Initial thoughts...

I like the "machining" on the pen, it provides grip, however it is not as "aggressive" as it looks in pictures.

From a "tactical" standpoint, when I hold it in a reverse grip, thumb supporting the end... The "Pointy" end sticks out about an inch and half. And the end is not something I would want to be poked with any force.

It is lighter than I expected.

The cap is secure on either end.

As to how it writes. I will say this... I HATE gel pens, hate them with a passion and they are about the only thing you can get in the school supply section, that or cheap-y ball points. This writes pretty good, it will get the job done for me, and it is not a gel pen!!! Wink

Yesterday I took a close look at the $10 Fisher Military version. I may buy one of those to see how I like the ink since it's the same formula.

These come from that place where we buy 'Recreational Equipment' from...Wink

I'm very interested in the Benchmade pen. To anyone who has posted that they have one (and what they think of it), can you post if you have the aluminum or stainless version? Thanks!

Cool pen. I have used Fisher Space pens for years. I have owned numerous versions (4) and I love the designs and the history. They can write underwater and under grease but they are not great pens in the classic sense. They skip alot and if you write small they can be very bad with the skipping issue. I love the pens for their capability but in reality any Bic pen will outwrite them on dry paper.

Hi,

as for Fisher, I can recommend the AG 7 ("the original astronaut pen") pen. It feels *so* good writing with this pen Smiler If you are "fast" you can "flick" the pen "open" (deploy the tip with a fast shake) Wink

Regards,

Julian
