Those look perfect (and reasonably priced too)! I wonder how much foam is in the 2" version. The 2" one says knives < .75" which seems pretty thin. The 3" one says it has 2" of foam so I would guess the 2" version would have at least 1" of clearance if the foam is removed.

I've got one of those and there's only one real problem with them.

They're not the easiest of access. Mine's on the wall and I use it for knives that are more 'display' than 'carry'. But I do keep my pair of 'flag' 720's in there (the regular Benchmade one and the NRA version) and when I carry those (4th of July & such) I have to take the case off of the wall, lay it on the bed, open it up, take out the knives, close it, hang it back up. To put them back I go through the same process but I have to be careful about the placement of the knives to make sure everything's nice and neat when the lid's fully closed.

I primarily go with an idea I got from here on the forum several years ago - we went to the furniture store and got a Curio cabinet. Ours is like two stacked up with three layers and a light in each half. Bottom half is the ever-indulgent wife's, top half is mostly mine. My shelves are full of knife racks.

Oh - a tip for you guys: if you get to a show like BLADE or the NRA Annual Meeting, hang around until the end talking to the various knife vendors. Most of them are using nice little display stands on their table and quite often they don't really want to mess with hauling them home. Sometimes they charge you a couple of bucks, sometimes they're free. There may or may not be a few marks or even a crack, but hey, for the price.... Smiler

Note: Benchmade pretty much always brings their very nice stands they had made for shows. Those and the 'coffee table of dreams' they won't part with. But if you ask nicely you might get a display pad.

Steve,
Which depth model did you get? I'd like to make sure the 2" depth (w/ any foam removed) will be deep enough for my Benchmades before I pull the trigger. I'm going to get the 9"x24" model and keep it on my desk so access shouldn't be an issue...

I'd say it's about 2". It's in the bedroom and the ever-indulgent wife is still asleep.

What about this?
Wall mounted showcase with glass door, dust proof.
Ajustable carriers that carry the knife by the clip.
Non magnetic and non scratch.

You can see them Blue Class and they can look back Big Grin

Dude, you have a real problem saying "No". I guess that if wallets ever go out of style and we start carrying little money sacks again, you'll be good to go. Oh, but wait, you won't have any money will you?

Seriously though, very nice. Thanks for the inspiration. What is it they say? "Gotta Collect 'em all".

Here's mine (ignore the mess around it). 9x24, 2" deep from customdisplays.com for about $30. I removed the foam inlay and trimmed the felt so it would fit down inside. It's not exactly fine woodworking but for $30 I'd say it's a bargain.

I’m always impressed with florijn’s display and collection. Right now all of mine are in their boxes sitting in the safe, I’d much more prefer to be able to admire them sitting in the open. And as j.wayne said, those are nice displays Cool
