Just got a damascus pen and it's a think of beauty. But - the cap rattles a little bit when it's on. Looks like the o-ring is engaged but the bottom of the cap isn't tight around the pen so it can move back and forth a little bit. Not a huge deal but I was wondering if that's common or not?

As for me, all of my Benchmade pens (1100 and 1150s) have no "play" and don't rattle Smiler
They feel rock solid.
Regards,

Julian

Mine doesn't rattle, but there is a little bit of play. It will be there regardless 'cause of the rubber o-ring.

Yeah - but they machined the closed end to a tolerance where the cap snaps on the end and doesn't rattle. It's only on the end w/ the pen that's the problem. If they could do one end w/o a rattle, seems like they could do the other as well...

Oh, I think I know what the problem is. Twist it tight with the cap off and it should take care of the problem Smiler

It's the cap itself that's rattling - not the threaded part. The inner diameter of the cap is larger than the outer radius of the pen.
