Hate to change the topic but I have a question. I recently bought a 1100-03 (my second Benchmade pen, the first was a 1150-1)and noticed that there's a gap where the pocket clip meets the cap barrel so the pen is not secure when it's in my shirt pocket. I tightened the 2 screws but it did not help. Is it normal for there to be gap between the end of the pocket clip and cap barrel?

Welcome to the forum!

If you are not happy with the way it sits there's an easy fix. Remove the clip and bend it slightly. Reinstall and it should be good.

Thank you for the welcome!

I did just what you suggested. The clip is nice and snug against the cap barrel.

Thanks for the info.

I just bought another pen (1101-2) with the carbide tip and noticed that the charcoal gray coating where the carbide tip meets the aluminum barrel is starting to come off. This only started to happen after I put the cap on the barrel when I was writing. It appears that maybe the screws holding the pocket clip on top fo the cap are rubbing the finish off. Has anybody else had this issue. Other than that, I really like the pen. It's worth the additional $10.

Thanks for the info I played with one at SHOT but was unsure if it was worth getting another.
