My wife got this for me for my birthday this week. I got the stainless steel version as I work in a formal office environment most of the time, so I figured it would look less out of place that way. The pen is very neat! As a pen, the ink is pretty good. It doesn't flow as well as gel pens do, but it's very consistent. Some ballpoint pens have inconsistent ink flow, so you have to do some frantic scribbling just to get the ink flowing well again. The pen is obviously much heavier than your average plastic pen, but not too heavy. The cap snaps on nicely, on both ends, and the knurling fits my fingers well. As for a defensive tool, I have no doubt that this is a force multiplier. In some ways, it's better than a folding knife. Mine is usually carried on my front dress shirt pocket, so it's more accessible than a pants pocket. You also don't have to flick anything open. The weight of the pen, plus the knurling pattern give a good grip. A jab with this to someone's face is going to really ruin their day. I haven't really had a chance to see if anyone thinks that it looks like a weapon, but at first glance people won't think so. And if you're concerned, you can always hand it to them with the cap over the pointy end. Cameron HK 14250 440 Opportunist 950-1 Rift 525-81 NRA 12400 10501 Rant Bowie 790 Subrosa 32 Morpho | ||
