Thanks for all the info., Po.

Might you tell me, does the Fisher ballpoint write well? And, it looks like the cap just pulls off... It's heavy, though; isn't it? I've never bought a metal pen with a cap that didn't screw together. [Actually, all pens that I have bought in this price range (regardless of material) screw together.] Does the cap have a propensity to come off when you don't want it to? Have you ever lost a pen cap?

I've carried mine in my back pocket every day for a few months now and it has never come apart unintentionally.

When I first got it I was surprised at how light it is. In the photos online, the pen looks much darker. Other than that, it filled all other expectations I had from a pen of its price, from Benchmade.

One thing I really like about this pen series is the knife style pocket clip. I'm not a big fan of wire clips.

Thanks, droc217... I think I'll have to find a dealer.

You'll be impressed. I carry mine everywhere in case I end up waiting for something. I can pull it out and trip out on the damascus. Every time I look at it I see something new.

Go to the damasteel site and look at the blue tongue: http://damasteel.com/patterns.html it appears they mill the pen out of the rod because you can see the tiny circles on the top of the cap where its most flat. This gives the pen an even more pronounced wood grain look than seen in other damascus and damasteel applications.

Writes well too, I haven't checked mine out underwater, or in space (yet) but it has put ink to paper reliably for me for a few months now.

I also dig that refills don't = arm + leg.
