Why do I feel somewhat dirty saying that?? I've tried several different methods and I can't get the ring back in the cap. Anyone else had this happen? Any tips for getting it back in? I never had a problem with the o-ring popping out. One thing I did do when I got my new 1100 was to add teflon lube to the o-ring with a Q-tip. I found that the o-ring was dry and a little sticky when I removed the cap or installing at the end of pen. __________________________ * Allen Elishewitz Preservation Society Founding Member #3 * Brotherhood of the 420 & Viceroy of the Knights of the Gravitator Member * Lum Lunatics Charter Member #15 * President of the Gentleman Society for the Preservation of the 960 Innova * Boomerangs 'n Butterflies: An Osborne Alliance Member #2 * Blackwood Society member #610 Red, Blue and Black Class, Pre-Productions, Limited Editions

I don't know the dimensions of Benchmade's pen, but small o-rings can be rolled into place sometimes using a Q-tip.. depending on the size of the o-ring. Alternatively, wedging one half in a space where you want it and then using either a cheap set of dental/mechanic picks or a couple of tiny screwdrivers works just fine also. If they're very stubborn (read: thick), they react better to having one end held in place while trying to maneuver the other part into place. Good luck! -----=====-----=====-----=====----- KnifeRights Member

I was able to get it back in using two small screwdrivers after about 30 minutes of trying so it is possible. I ordered a replacement cap for an 1100-3 and it came in it did not have an O-ring in it. Guess the guy who sent it picked it up the production line a little early...A new O-ring was sent immediately. I placed the O-ring on the end of the tactical point after a very...very light dab of vegetable oil. Then just pushed it up into the pen. boop. it was in. _________________________________________ ... it's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses...Hit it...!
