Hi does anyone know how to remove and replace the 'o' ring in the cap of an 1100 series pen. I want to get one GOLD plated and need to remove the o ring and replace it after plating.

Shining a light down into the cap of the one I pulled from my pocket, I'd hazard a guess that you should be able to get it out but might have to find a new one to replace it with later. Looks to me like your options are either a dental pick coming up from below or, after you take out the screws to remove the clip you could try coming in from above with a piece of stiff wire. In either case you're going to have to catch the top edge, get behind it, and work the ring out of its groove. Once you get it out of the groove you may need a pair of long nosed tweezers to remove it from the pen. Getting it back also looks like it could be 'fun' You might try contacting Benchmade to see what they say. Steve :-> KnifeRights.org Charter Member #134 - how about you?

No first I have seen of them. Now either the guy has tiny hands in the photo or it's more a crowbar than a pen.. Plus I don't like screw on caps..

From the review it is a BIG LONG pen. I agree that it is more a crowbar than a pen. You need a deep pocket for one of these. __________________________ * Allen Elishewitz Preservation Society Founding Member #3 * Brotherhood of the 420 & Viceroy of the Knights of the Gravitator Member * Lum Lunatics Charter Member #15 * President of the Gentleman Society for the Preservation of the 960 Innova * Boomerangs 'n Butterflies: An Osborne Alliance Member #2 * Blackwood Society member #610 Red, Blue and Black Class, Pre-Productions, Limited Editions
