Sorry to have so many pen threads going at once, but I've finally decided to get one of these and I don't want to regret my choice of which one. I love stainless, period. I would love to have titanium if it were available. I am really interested in the damasteel because it makes the pen look more elegant and less "tactical." The pictures I've seen are pretty dark, does anyone have any good pictures of their pen? Is that a "finish" or is it a true damascus steel that the pattern cannot be worn off of with use or rubbing on a pocket? Thanks for any info or pictures!

I'll put some up later this week. I don't know of any damascus that's "fake" - and certainly none that BM produces is fake. All damascus blades are in some way just a finish - it's acid etching of two different steels that shows the pattern. If you remove steel, the pattern disappears - that's why you don't see it on the actual cutting edge of damascus knives. You can always refresh the pattern using acid (google for exact instructions) if you have to...

TD, that answers my question about the steel. I was concerned that if it got scratched I would lose the pattern, but if it can be re-etched that should be ok. I'd love to see pictures if you get a chance. Thanks!
