Archer, have you had a chance to carry and use that knife yet? If so, what are your thoughts?

I like it, it's robust as a tank and surprizingly slim in the pocket.

This one is as sharp as a scalpel, but that's after the said mystery man gave it an edge to die for.

There is something very "toolish" about it and it's the kind of knife that would really do well in a survival situation as it has that screw lock that screws shut the frame lock bar and makes it as good as a fixed blade (?), especially with the thickness of the blade spine, a full 4.5 MM thick.

There are couple of flaws, this one was not centerd and I figured out why, the washers are either teflon or nylon and becuse they are soft the frame lock bar pushes the blade close to the liner at closed position, it is a very thick lock bar that works under a heavy spring load, heavier than any ZT I have.

To counter act this, I took it apart and noticed that when both washers are put on one side, that is the side that is close to the liner, when the screw is tightend the blade will center perfectly.

So now I need another washer for the side that I took it from, I took a piece of nylon and carefully cut out a washer with an exacto knife and put it on the other side, loc tite and tightened the pivot screw and now it's perfect.

In a nut shell the knife needed two washers or a thicker washer on one side to counter act the preasure from the lock bar.

There are a few other flaws, like the blade sits wide in the handle and the backspacer does not go the length of the knife making easy to stick a finger and actually touch the cutting edge of the blade.

that's about it on the flaws, on the upside it is a survival tool, on the bottom there is a glass breaker, on top of the blade there is a bottle opener that can be used as a wave feature.

Last night I was invited to a BBQ, got good use of the bottle opener Big Grin and the jimping are sort of grooves with aggresiv edges and sized differantly for use as wire strippers.

I am impressed with it and really took a liking to it , maybe it also has something to do with the fact that it is a token of friendship .

They are handier than any ZT I have and just as, if not more robust and unbreakable.
One last note, I tried to modify a couple of bronze mini grip washers to fit it they did, but then I would have a grip without any washers Confused

I'll have to pick up a couple of bronze washer and try and do a more serious mod job.

Thanks, archer. I wondered what you thought of it compared to the ZTs.
