You guys are good...all I have done is paint a 710 scales OD Green and add an Emerson clip.

My painted one is the top one in this picture above another of my 710s with the green Benchmade LE scales added:

...and reversed with my painted ones on the bottom:

...and a color comparison to the scales on another of my 710s as they were before painting, which is the standard black, and the clip is shinier after painting as well:

"KRYLON" "CAMOUFLAGE" ("NON-REFLECTIVE NATURE COLOR") from Walmart. It comes in a camo can.

Here is the thread on the project Smiler: http://benchmadeforum.com/eve/...3/m/733005534001/p/1

I think there are more pictures there as well, but don't remember without reviewing the whole thing.

Ares is amboyna burl.
525 is desert ironwood.
670 is snakewood.
710 is carbon fiber - obviously Smiler

Thanks everyone. If you can spend a few bucks to get the proper tools and take your time, it's not too hard to get good results with wood. FYI the filework on the 670 is stock - not my work - I tried my hand at files and it always came out terrible.

I keep meaning to add engine turnings to the 670 bolsters but I haven't had to time to give it a try. The 710 is now sporting an M390 DLC blade and silver axis knob but I haven't reshot the pictures of it.
