I think mine is almost exactly like DJ's re-grind. One neat thing about it is the grind ends right where the blade disappears into the closed handle. So, looking at the closed knife, you can't see any grinding.

If you extended the grind further up you would remove the Benchmade emblem and you'd also be grinding underneath the thumb stud, which they usually try to avoid.

You could possibly grind around the thumb stud, but it's a big one and hard to miss for the small gain that you might get.
