FJ, you could always mount a fillet blade in the 805 frame, it will looks like that when you're finished anyway! Wink

It would only look like a fillet blade if I "removed" the serrations. All I'm thinking of doing is raising the PE part enough so that it aligns with the serrations. Take a look at your CE blade. It's pretty easy to imagine the realignment.

The problem will be the blade coating. Roll Eyes If I move the PE edge that far upward, the blade will be very thick, and with unrepairable coating, there's no way to re-profile without making it look like a 20% Krein job. I don't mind the look of a 100% Krein job that takes most of the coating, but taking only 20% might look like a mistake.

You can do a lot more with uncoated blades.

If you use a fine enough stone to finish the job, the coating-grind line will look factory-like as long as you keep your angle constant to avoid waves.
