RobME thank you!!! I am a new Knife junky, was on Bladefoorums, and stumbled across this. I have 1 grip out now having the scales replaced with stabilized jarrah, and a back spacer being made of damascus. I have a Barrage, and am trying to find somewhere to get the scales replaced' thanks.

Welcome Big70...never heard of Jarrah so looked it up. Eucalyptus (from Western Oz) is the botanical name for the material and it's a beautiful wood with all the difficulties in both cutting the stuff and dealing with toxic dust from the shaping, so if you're doing the job wear (lung) protection.

How a pic or two when you're done so we can see what it looks like?

I wish i could do it!!! No im anxiously awaiting it's return. Im most apprehensive about the spacer. Id seen Carbon fiber and wood spacer but do not care for it. This guy sayd he can do it out of Steel, so we shall see. He also makes custom wood boxes, which I am also getting done from him, Curly Maple, African Ebony, and Panama Rosewood on that. Ill be keeping my Knifes in it.
I also am talking to this guy Chax.... I may have at long last found someone to work on my Barrage!!!! Aluminum Backspacer, and polished Black Micarta Scales. Not 100% sure yet, but we shall see.

The scales on the Barrage are the difficult part. If you take them off, you can see how complicated they are on the inside. There are all sorts of recesses and countersinks that aren't visible when the knife is together, but are required for proper function. I'd really need a CNC machine to do it correctly (and they're expensive).

Thats basically the response I get when talking to other Customizer, but I Believe Chax is in!! Ill let you know, and when i get my Grip and Box back, Ill post the pics.
