I have always loved the 520 and I am on my 3rd one, my only complaint is that it eats your pockets and tears them up. Breaking the edge of the traction grooves makes it look like a zebra, so I came up with this...

I bead blasted, then stonewashed the aluminum scales, they have a great finish on them now and the edges are all knocked off without making the traction any less effective. Long live my pants! I threw in a few backspacer barrels to aid in constant cleaning of the knife. I love to carry my 520 again!

I might send it in for a plain edge coated blade but otherwise it is done!

I expect nothing from anyone. I am entitled to nothing tangible. I am an American Original.

I'm looking to buy specific Red, Blue, Black, & Green 940 variants. PM me! Big Grin

Blasphemy! j/k. Smiler

Can you get a close-up pic of the ridges? I'm curious about how much you knocked off. Nice job; it looks good.

VERY very nice! It's nice also to see that handle in something other than black, looks classy! I'm curious-- a friend has been looking for spacers to fit a 520 (I'm sure he'll show up) as we both would like to put spacers on our 520s and 522s. No luck. Did you find spacers that fit? Or make your own? Thanks-- Rick

thats a great idea...hmmm....maybe I'll try a full bead blast handle and blade for all matte gray finish. Can you show a pic of your barrell spacers?

Looks awesome dude!

One question. When you blast off the anodized coat doesn't it weaken the aluminum?
