My co-worker Chris and his custom bowie.

it's a thick mother of a blade, if you look closely you can see I had a double grind that blended 24* to 21*

the formerly serrated steak knife that is now a plain edge sharp steak knife

I sharpened this Buck and Old Timer too.

sorry for the poor quality.

Additionally after using half of my 120 grit stone grinding down the blade to something that resembled an edge (on the bowie) I've decided that I need DIAMOND stones.

taking that bowie from allmost presentation dull to paper shaving felt like a real accomplishment for me, I left it with 600 grit due to the sheer mass of the blade.

this knife went 14 years without being sharpened and was only ever used as a lime and lemon cutter, true story.

My method of edge testing involves sacrificing innocent phone books, I draw the blade across the edge of a rolled up phone book and carve off curly ques.

you can also shave long portions to end up with "fluff" for lack of a better term, it basicly like clown hair, I'll shave a phone book and link pics of that as well.

Nice work Skimo. I just picked up an apex, basically a #4 model for $100!!! Haven't had a chance to use it yet, been very busy with wifey and daughter stuff.

Just hope I get as good results as you.

Punisher: that's stainless milled steel, custom made, not hand forged.
