Time for a new Ares in my collection.
Meet MEGA Ares or Ares gigantes Big Grin

It's the original Benchmade R&D prototype that was made as a first R&D proto on the original Elishewitz Aries (what later in BM production became the BM 730 Ares).

As you can see it's bigger and fatter Big Grin
for comparing:

Original production Ares:
Overall 8,20"
Blade 3,60"
Weight 4,40oz

R&D prototype Ares:
Overall 8,75"
Blade 3,75"
Weight 5,20oz

Take a look at the blade grind and width.
Sterile and longer blade.
Different spacer no axis finger cut-out etc.

Pretty cool Cool right?

R&D Ares, proto 730 and pre prod #0000 730.

from left to right:
R&D Ares, proto 730, pre prod 730 and production 730.
Chack out the spacers!

Enjoy!

WOW! Very neat. You come up with the greatest stuff. Anything you can tell me about the 730 pe in ATS-34 with a black G10 spacer I have, would be helpful to me. Thanks
