I had some spare time last night so I took a shot at modifying my Benchmade mini-AFCK 812s.

I started out with a used BM 812s with an ATS 34 blade with the BK coating on it. I stripped the BK coating off and hand rubbed the blade to 400 grit for a rough/satin finish.

Then I popped off the old G10 scales and fabbed up a set of THIN carbon fiber scales (.060). I thinned out the pivot screw head and put a satin finish on all the hardware.

I dropped the plastic backspacer and replaced it with some barrel spacers.

I may still jewel the Ti liners and perhaps go as far as anodizing them, but time will tell. I may keep this one around as a test mule for things I haven't tried before or sell it for something else.

Let me know what you think, thanks for looking!

I agree a fresh black blade looks SOOOO good but they don't stay that way long if you use them.

You're right, this thing cant weigh but a few ounces now. It is CRAZY light. Add a classy leather lanyard and this thing would look great in any business suit. And it is the mini-AFCK so you don't scare all the sheeple.

I considered putting the logo's back in, what do you guys think? Its hard to get them out of the originals without destroying them, but if I could, would you re-add them to the scales?
