Well, I never got the regrind I wanted on my Gaucho and couldn't stand to see the best part (IMHO) of this model sit unused. Weighs in at 3.3oz vs 2.9oz for a stock 943. Not as thin as the 943 but very nice in hand.

Would be pretty sweet with a 940 blade as well. Big Grin

Nice, swap, I really love the gacho handle...the 12800 should get much more love than it does!

I REALLY like that!! Didn't realize those were swappable. I would guess the extra weight to be a plus, to boot.

Angler, are you carrying that? I'm interested to hear your opinion because I did that a year or so ago too. I carried it a week or two, but eventually decided the blade felt too "thin" in the Gaucho handle.

Yea I'm carrying it now and for a few more days at least. I'll let ya know my thoughts. I just picked up a HD 13200 that when it gets here I'm going to replace the wood on it and then put the 943 blade in it. A 940 blade will go in the Gaucho for a test ride. Wink I really like the thicker scales on these two and the slight extra weight.

Here's the other half of the swap.
When closed the very tip of the blade sticks out of the handle just enough to catch on something but with verry little taken off it would work.
