I really can't see what all the fuss is about. What am I missing... granted I have never held an Ares.

Then again, I thought that about the 710 till I owned one. I am not writing it off, but what is the big draw for you fellas?

Curious. Outstanding collection btw!

I wager hold one and it would need no further explanation. Wink

For me, it was really one of the first BM's I was exposed to. It was the knife that my boss used/abused and the knife that I told myself I would someday acquire. The start of the sickness STS. Big Grin My first BM happened to be a Grip but it was followed very shortly by an Ares, and then another, and then another, and so on and so forth.

It really does just fit my hand, just right. It's big, but not too big. It's blade shape is simple yet elegant and useful. The handle contour and G-10 are decorative yet function and cool looking. Guess what I'm trying to say is that it is a very well done balance of many different aspects one would want in a knife.

If you can find one, I highly recommend it. If you find you don't like it, moving it shouldn't be too much of an issue at all.

Good enough, I will have to track a user down and give it a go. I like the blade shape the rest of it is a bit too plain jane for me. However, I had to be convinced that the AFCK and 710 were worth it too... what was I thinking!?
