I have an older 13940 and more recently purchased another one (it could be newer, it could be older I guess).... and maybe my "older" one isn't older.

...but what I can tell you is the that clips are not the same! The "newer" one (on the left in pic below) has more of a parkerized finish and the edges (especially the slots) are less "polished" or rounded. The "older" one (on the right), I don't know what kind of finish it is...if I had to guess, I'd say anodized...and it's a dark gray, instead of black.

Anyone have any input on this?

I actually quite like the "anodized" one, plus it's finishers are cleaner.

The Parked clip looks better, the other one looks like it was painted maybe.

For the record, any standard BM clip, whether the larger Benchmade USA, or split arrow will work on that 940 variant.

I didn't know they came parkerized. I liked the painted gray clip on the 13940 better. The paint didn't seem to chip on the gray clip like it does on the standard black Benchmade painted clips.

I hope they keep making them with the painted gray clips.
