February 11, 2010 was the last post in this forum. So I thought I would start a thread to get the Harley action rolling.

I own one HD knife. The 13150-1 Mini Hardtail with the Axis, Valox (I think) handle and good old D2. A good buy at a price even a outlaw biker like myself can afford. Big Grin

Harley Davidson Backroad Folder 13200BK is the one I really like.
Take a look.

Does anyone have one of these?
Who has an HD knife?
Watcha got?
Can anyone afford to buy one at your local HD dealer?

Full retail at most. Only a few dealers offer some discount on The HD Line. I guess if you wana roll with the big dogs it's gonna cost ya. Blood, Guts and Money.

It's a lifestyle I choose freely.

Nice-looking knife, for sure. But I don't own any.

The Backroad is a version of Gaucho IMO.

I bought mine on the 'bay with the intention of changing out the blade with M4 goodness - instead I got used to the Aluminum Gaucho handles. So my Backroad sits NIB.

I've aquirred a full size Hardtail, the Valox mini Hardtail, a Backroad, and I should be getting an HD 13940 Osborne shortly.

I think the "writing" turns some people off on these products. Personally, I look at the knife and many of the HD knives are nice.

+1 on that. Even though I have owned many and currently ride one, I shy away from anything with their logos on them. I like some of their bikes, but I'm not particularly enamored of the company, itself. It's difficult for me to spend money on their product, then advertise for them the whole time I have it. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone but me but, there it is.

I do like the design of the hardtail.

Last week I got to see my first large Hardtail courtesy of DJ. That is a beautiful knife, sort of the 21st century version of the Buck 110. Even the cylinder head Axis studs are cool, and make the thing unique.

A blade swap from the Gaucho to the Backroad?
I never thought those two blades were similar. You have booth and should know. Interesting idea. Because the HD line has no smiley I'll insert the closest thing I can find that represents HD.

I keep looking at the Pika II w/G10 handles...seems pretty nice for like $60 street price. I think Master Po has one and likes it.

The handles are the same shape and size. I think the HD Backroad handle is classier than the Aluminum of the Gaucho.

I still debate a blade swap, but I dislike taking knives apart for little reason.

Some would say the Backroad has a better blade shape, anyway.
