I have carried a lot of EDC but I may have found THE best for my needs as a hunter/outdoorsman. I generally dont like to carry big heavy knives in the woods. During Bow season and rifle season for whitetail deer, I have found a blade size of 3" to be more than enough for field dressing and skinning game up to the size of deer and black bear. I have a designated knife for the task but more often than not, my EDC has to fit the job as well. After looking over the Benchmade specs, I found under the HK label a amazing EDC. The HK AXIS 14210 Snody design. Blade is stone washed 154cmss with heavy gimping on the blade, blade size is 2.95", thickness .115", weight 3.08oz, 3.85"closed, 6.80"open. G-10 handle with hollowed out SS liners. This knife is like a higher end mini griptilian but with G-10, gimping and better blade design.
The blade design is a " modified drop point with recurve". The cool thing about this blade design is its actual cutting surface. It is sharpened all the way to the handle. It actually has more cutting surface than knifes I have with 3.5" blades. Handle is a piller design which means blood and guts are easily washed away. Clip is mounted high on the G10 handle. I love the knife. Check it out. It flys under the radar in the HK Benchmade label.

+1, me to. I've wanted to try this knife for awhile...flys under the radar tho, seems there is always something a little more pressing to buy.

Give it a shot I don't think there is a better EDC Benchmade with a 3" blade. It's a quality over qanity knife.

Welcome Mystro...

Yes agreed, great review and excellent pics. 14210 is one knife not getting much press these days with our 15 second attention spans and all, but it's a superb piece of work and worth owning.

Great pics. I agree with Joe K on this baby.

I like the way the G10 is machined different from the larger 14205 as well. BKC could have just made the popular 14205 smaller but went the extra mile with a different look to the G10. It's typical detail of the HK Axis and Nitrous models.

The 14210 is indeed one of the unheralded, or too little heralded, gems of the Benchmade treasure chest. A lot of cutting tool for the size, outstanding ergonomics, design, and materials.

Thanks for this review mystery hero! You remined me that I need to have one of these! I carried one for a long time when they first came out, but gave it away to a buddy of mine who really liked it. I was carrying a custom 525 at the time that was almost the same size, but eventually passed that on to another buddy. So...I need another 14210! Big Grin

+1

I recently purchased a 14205 and it's a great knife but the machined G-10 on the 14210 looks fantastic.

Thanks for the review mystro.
