My 760 got a Krein regrind not long after I got it. The factory blade is just too thick to be a decent cutter, the Krein gring really transforms the knife into a slicing machine like M4 deserves. A little bit of oil will keep your M4 pretty, and I actually prefer it uncoated. I wish my 760 didn't have such a terribly off center blade, I ended up selling mine in part because of that blade that was extremely hard to adjustto not touching the handle.

Some BM's with liner locks like my CQC7 can be flicked out without using the stud at all. If I flick my wrist just so it easily flicks open and locks by momentum or centripetal force whatever. How bout the Lum? I know it's a framelock but that doesn't lock the blade in the closed position. SO has anyone been able to flick it open easily without the thumb action? Some poeple may not like this feature I see no problem with it...it's obviously unecessary with axis locks though. I have found that I can do this with almost any folder that no longer has a spring keeping it closed such as a swiss army type or old buck 110 folder does, the exception is the sebenza which I cannot even flick open using the thumb stud. Inthe case of the Sebbie this is a desired feature however as it has the smoothest opening blade I have ever seen...you just have tio use the stud to rotate the blade entirely open.

Yes, the blade is easily flicked open without the use of the thumb stud. There is nothing that holds the blade closed such as with the axis knives. I thought this took away from the knife at first then I removed the pocket clip and carry the knife strictly in my pocket. I now find no problem with this knife at all. Love it!

I've never owned a frame-lock that opened as easily as the 760. Believe me, it is the mildest of flicks and no thumb stud use that opens it right up.

I'm used to it now and like it alot.

I've been tempted by this knife for a long time. It just looks so good. Haven't handled one yet but soon enough.

Cminor, that's an interesting website that I've never seen before. Yes, the 760 is a very nice knife. I can't stand the tanto tip though so some of us had them re-ground into more of a clip point.

The stock 760 blade is way thick too, so a little thinning is also nice. The one shown below is hollow-ground.

I hated Tantos... but, this knife is named after the fellow credited with it's introduction - Bob Lum. That was my rationale... dumb, huh? It was a great buy - and became part of my massive Ti collection:

It also is my only Tanto blade. I may add a Besh Wedge one day - I bought my son a Buck #850 Bravo - a poor example of Buck's work, in my opinion. The 760 is a great knife - mine, a numbered Black Box, came as perfect as can be... and is a keeper. My pair-o-Skirmish models above are pretty nice, too. The Kershaw Ti/SG2 JYDII is super - the Buck 560XLT is my absolute worst Buck - and I love 110s - I keep it for it's novelty.

I just recnently picked up a 760 PE first production run I believe mine was in the low 200's count of 1000 for around 200.00 and I feel like I did okay.. I know I could have got it for much cheaper than that but what matters is whats it worth to you.. I am sure the 760 will be discontinued in some point in time down the rd and it will end up being worth more than I paid for... I have a 970 that flicks open fast than my auto but this 760 I own has one of the smoothest and easiest deployments that I have come across in a while... Very nice blade and well worth the price IMO...
