Well I was in a rush out the door yesterday morning and my model 710 took a ride along the pavement, I immediatly cringed at the sound of it clanking across the ground.. go to pick it up to examine to carnage and to my awe and amazment the G10 had a few light scuffs that seem to rub right out of the material, I never realized G10 was that durable and the paint on my clip didnt even scratch... I know knives are tools and are meant to be used (as I use all mine I own) But I have not had this blade but for a couple months so its still pretty new to me.. I just thought I would share the durability and ruggedness of this blade and its handles

G10 will laugh at a fall like that. I've seen pics of G10 smashed with a sledge hammer before and came out still in one piece.

Well I am carrying it on duty/off duty as well so I am sure with in the next couple of weeks it will be put up to more tests... I love this knife.. And about the G10 smashed with hammer sounds like alot more damage than I would be willing to put mine against but good to know its that tuff... I wish I could get some G10 handles made for my 635 or they would reintroduce one with G10 that would be great..

My 745 slipped out of my pocket last year and bounced off the sidewalk. Picked it up and really couldn't find any marks. Was amazed, G-10 is good stuff.

I know they can take it, but I know the cringe when one takes a fall. Big Grin

Just don't try and stop the fall and no one gets hurt. Big Grin

I'll let it fall every time after seeing that photo with the stitches. You can always replace the knife, fingers not so easy.

I always jump out of the way of an open knife. But I avoid dropping it of course, because I might not be so lucky or quick one day and get a knife in my foot.

I got my Kopa yesterday and had it loose in my sweatshirt pocket. It fell out and landed on tile! It was heartbreaking to see the little mark on the stainless steel handle, but at least the pearl inlay wasn't damaged.

The knife won't fall if you use the clip it comes with is what I learned.
