Yea I know it’s an old thread but I’m getting caught up.

The falling weapon lesson is learned very early in firearms handling skills. Never go after it. Your finger WILL end up in the trigger guard every time.

Question about G-10. Can I simply file it?

You can file and sand it, just make sure you're wearing a dust mask at least for your safety.

it handles sanding just like wood.

Joe is right, that g-10 dust is very bad for your lungs.
