I don't really want to bore y'all with a huge lengthy review, but I've been carrying the Hk 14200 for about three months now and I have to say, I'm surprised this knife doesn't get more press. I've always been a fan of the HK series of knives, in fact a Blitz was the very first knife I ever bought, so I guess it's poetic justice that I always come back to the HK line. It's just a super impressive knife, does everything I need it to, has a wicked action, carries really well, is perfectly sized and built like a tank.

I really can't say it enough, if you can score a 14200, you're going to love it.

I'll agree with you Dingo; those knives are great. The whole 142XX series is a good value. (the serrated tanto's to a lesser extent probably)

Nice pics and writeup Smiler

The HK's are great knives-- smooth, and built solid. I rebladed my 14200 CE tanto to a PE tanto, and carry it often--

I traded my 14200 to get a 14205 but wouldn't mind another. I like way the bolster looks but the '205 is lighter. Either way these are great knives.

I handled a couple of H&Ks a bit over a year ago and didn't care for the way they "felt" in my hand. Not the size, but I thought they felt kind of "cheap," I guess.

Maybe I was being too hard on them. I won't go back to the dealer where I first saw and handled them (highly overpriced jerks,) but I'm going to give them a second look at the next gun & knife show. After all, they DO have the Axis© Lock, and I am an Axis© ho' Cool

That's possible, Rick. Then again, it was the first time I was in that store and they were really a bunch of jerks, so I probably hurried to get out of there. It wasn't anything in particular I could name that I didn't like about them, just an impression, really.

I won't let it get in the way next time.

I carried 14200-1X G-10 scaled varients and 14205s for a couple of years, just ending recently. They are outstanding knives. Ergonomic and tough.

It was a big surprise to me when they were discontinued, 'cuz I consider them up there with the 710 and 520.
