I picked one up as soon as they were available. My initial impression.was that while it was close to being great, it just missed the boat. The placement of the thumb stud makes it nearly imossible to open without using the flipper. I'm also not accustomed to using a flipper, so that may be part of the issue. Mostly for me I Think that the knife just didn't feel right.

Don't like it. Not much more to say than that... thought I'd give it a try but alas...

I love these kinds of reviews. Maybe the knife won't end up selling well and I can get a couple more cheaply to go with the nice one I now have.

I've been looking over other Benchmade knives recently because I'd like to get a top-notch one made in the US, but I can't find any I like as much as my 13900.

I played around with mine a bit, adjusted and lubed the pivot. It has been growing on me quite a bit. Overall my current impression is that the out of box product is mediocre, but with a minimal amount of user effort it can become a good knife. At this point I would probably not buy another one, but I also am not planning to get rid of the one I have.

Its nowhere near the level of the skirmish, but it seems slightly nicer than the torrent now. My major complaint with it is the overly aggressive jimping and sharp edges on the thumbstud. The thumbstud is actually quite terrible and I think it may wind up being taken off completely.
