Well, if you've already visited my Collection Thread in the pictures section, you will see that I had a set of Carbon Fiber Mini Griptilian scales made. Well I've carried the new Griptilian for a few days now and I must say that these scales are absolutely fantastic.

Price was great. Mine were made for way less than what Wilkins are offering their scales for. $99, including international shipping from Germany (which only took about a week to get to my front door).

Luke is a fantastic guy to deal with. I don't think I've emailed anyone whom I have done business with as much as I did with Luke. He kept me updated the entire process, provided me with everything I needed, including shipping information, estimates, tracking info, etc. I felt very comfortable dealing with him the entire time. Usually, I would not do any business with anyone outside of the U.S., but I took a chance with him and I'm glad I did.

The workmanship on the scales is perfect. The scales fit the liners of the Mini Griptilian as if they came from the Benchmade factories themselves. The axis bar sticks in the channel once in a while, but this is very unlikely, and really only occurs when I pull the bar back really hard. The back spacer I ordered is Glow in the Dark, and does so very well. Also, the Reptilian pattern of the back spacer gives great grip to my hands, and I have no fear of my hand slipping forward on the knife.

If you own a Mini Griptilian, you know that some times, the pattern on the stock scales combined with the tight pocket clip will eat away at your pocket after a while, but the smooth scales from CSD have saved my precious jeans. They slide in and out of my pocket very smoothly, but are still able to keep the knife securly clipped to my pocket.

I will update this more once the knife gets more pocket time, but for now, I highly recommend CSD for your custom scale needs.

Yah, I just got mine back and they turned out pretty cool. There are a couple minor fit issues that I'll speak to Luke about. Overall, they are very nice and well made.

Here's a not-so-good shot...
