First off, I would like to say that I had my eye on this as soon as I saw some youtube videos pertaining to this knife. I traded for this knife and I think it has already become my favorite. I like it so much that I will have to get another one to keep in my collection so that I can use the one I carry now. Yes, thats right, I carry the onslaught but have never used it and I will not until I order another one. This is such a beautiful knife and there really isn't anything I don't like about it. I know that some people often complain about the thickness of the blade but you have to consider that this is a purpose built knife. Complaining about the thickness of the knife is like complaining about low profile tires on a race car. This knife, in my opinion, is my favorite benchmade to date.

Yep. Smiler I love my 741BK. The only thing I can find wrong with carrying it (not wrong with it) is that it just isn't sheeple friendly, so it doesn't get much pocket time. I think I'd get in more trouble carrying it (3.5" limit in my city) than my Microtech LUDT (non-auto state), just on looks alone. But it IS a sexy sexy knife, and SMOOTH. Smoothest blade I have once it was broken in. As for the blade thickness, it's also very wide (tall?) so it isn't like an axe edge at all. Should be a very nice slicer, but of course I wouldn't know, I'm too afraid to scuff up the BK on it.

Wait a minute... I was just thinking about that blade thickness part, and decided to pull it out of the safe for a better look. It isn't thick at all! For some reason I remembered it being thick too, I think it tricks you into thinking that because of the shape. And it's so tall with a nice tall flat grind that it should be a wicked slicer.

I love my 741 as well. It is a great slicer. The carry is better then expected. The crowned spine and the black nickel hardware are a fantastic addition for the price point. I think I amm going to send mine off to Tom Krein and have him knock the rhino horn off of it and re-crown the spine, maybe add some jimping to the blade for my thumb as well. We'll see though. I like the knife the way it is too.

Knock the horn off?! That's my favorite part! Why not just get a 740? Wink

I picked up a first production run #226 from a fellow on Knifeforums for $100.Best money I have spent on a Benchmade. It carries very easy for a larger piece. Can not find one negative about this knife.Best piece Benchmade has put out recently.
