I think I amm going to send mine off to Tom Krein and have him knock the rhino horn off of it and re-crown the spine, maybe add some jimping to the blade for my thumb as well. We'll see though. I like the knife the way it is too.

Knock the horn off?! That's my favorite part! Why not just get a 740? Wink

I like the axis lock and I am thinking of just making it a large swedge on the top. I don't know. I guess I have too much time on my hands. I like the blade as it is too, But though this might look cool as well. We'll see still kicking the Idea around.

M2, I kicked around doing a similar mod on the 741. I decided if I had Tom re-work it that I'd have him do a straight spine starting at the top of the swedge (up by the hole) and running straight to the tip. At one point I also looked at having him just follow the bottom of the swedge, but that would put a big bowie swoop to it and I'd only be able to use it when I dress-up pirate like Johnny Depp. Big Grin

After he straightened the spine I'd just ask him to re-work the swedge so it looks nice.

The mod should get rid of a bunch of un-needed dorsal fin...right?

Yup. I was thinking the blade would look more like a wide flat grind 806. More than likely I will have him make the swedge go all the way to the tip as well.

Glad to hear that you like the 741, there is just something about the design that I can't get on board with. I think it may be the horn on the top of the blade and the fact that it has a hole for an opener. I may have to get one and try it out though. Big Grin
