remind me to post pics of the Benchmade display case she got me for Xmas... yeah, I'll probably hang on to this one, especially after she gave my CBR1000RR.

Yeah... flowers, and a nice dinner for the woman who got you that knife. It's not everyone who will go out of their way to get you something that vanished so quickly. Last I checked they were even drying up on eBay.

As for me, I was convinced I'd lost my shot. But I got a call on Saturday from the dealer who had promised me one weeks... months?... ago. He had it in the store.

Now, I got laid off two weeks ago. But I did want the knife really bad. So, I paid over the phone, and picked it up yesterday. I dig it, it feels just like my D2 does, more or less. The Axis buttons are a little wider, and I must confess, I do like the oval hole style better, but beggars can't be choosers.

Downside, everything is blacked out. So I can't really start carrying it around just yet. If I'm forced to sell it, NIB is going to be the most profitable way to go, so I can't go around rubbing the black stuff off of the hardware.

That said, I do still have the D2. I go out of my way to keep it very sharp... even though D2 is a PAIN to keep sharp. So, I have a very nice replacement squirreled away in the event that anything happens to my 806D2. I guess I can't ask for much more than that.

Anybody looking for new hires in the Boston area?

All I see are pristine pictures of pristine knives... doesn't anyone actually cut anything anymore?

She's already getting him what he want's! Hey man if you love the girl great KEEP her. But don't buy into all this crap about the girl supportiing your hobbies. As soon as you take the plunge and commit your hobbies are going to take a back seat bro. Way back. I've had a few I'd trade off in a heartbeat for a good knife, even a rusty oyster shucker in some cases. No material object can replace a good woman but no good woman can replace your freedom and independence. And there are PLENTY of good women out there.
