Well I recently picked up a Old New Stock Benchmade 705 BT PE steel is ATS-34 Steel.. The following Specs I found on the 705 will give you a general idea of its size and weight ETC.. My First Benchmade was the 710 and to this is day is still my favortite and most carried blade I own... The first thing that came to mind when I saw and held the 705 is its kinda like a mini mee too the 710.. Its size fits my hand perfectly for a small knife and the AXIS lock is flawless like every other Benchmade AXIS I own.. I had been in the market for a small backup knife for my 710 and the 705 certainly fits the bill to a T.. Closed the 705 is as long as the blade on the 710.. The ATS-34 holds a good edge and is easy to touch up.. I am not sure when the 705 was discontinued but my guess would be early 2000-2002 circa.. The G10 scales allow a secure grip when useing it and the jimping on the bottom and top of the handles help enhance a secure grip.. The 705 IMO is a good compromise when you plan on carrying a more of a sheeple friendly blade than if compared to a 710 or if your looking for a good secondary knife the 705 fits that purpose for me... I highly recommend anyone to pick up one of these useful little blades..

Blade Length: 2.95"
Blade Thickness: 0.100"

Blade Material: ATS-34 154CM

Blade Hardness: 58-60HRC

Blade Style: Drop-Point

Weight: 2.70oz.
Clip: Black, Reversible, Tip-Up

Lock Mechanism: AXIS

Overall Length: 6.75"

Closed Length: 3.80"

So if you want to see the ultimate expression of the 705/707 you need to look at Tony K.'s post "My Collection - Happy family" in the Photos section. There you will see a pair of 706-02s, everything you could want in a 70x knife except availability. Only 75 were made. The origional 706 looses a little because it doesn't have a clip.

705, 732, 770, 14200, 14210, 16707, Alias I&II, 152-500
How do people function without carrying a knife?
