I happen to like all Benchmade's titanium-handled knives. When I was in a position to handle them both, I opted for the 760 LFTi over the 790 Subrosa. I plan on getting a 790 at some point, but I couldn't afford 2 $200 knives that day.

Great review and the comments since have been really insightful as well.

The only things that make the 750 "better" IMO are the lack of some assisted opening feature and the thicker scales.

Why does Benchmade use that thin of a Ti scale on full-size knives? The scales on the 760 were too thin, also.

I currently have a 790 and have had several 750's. I prefer the 790 over the 750. I just never liked them overly much. Just an opinion.

Mark, going to your review it's right on. I've had my 790 for a week now and it's been a little hard to switch over to any of my other regulars.

It's a great fit in my pocket and the clip not only keeps it in place but makes it easy to access it from both directions.

This knife is perfectly centered and from 'JW' it came with a good working edge that stropping has only improved on.

A great feature on making adjustments is the use of the hex stop pin. The 790 came out of the box at more than 65% and with a few tries I've moved it back to 50% and it's got no blade play at all either side to side or edge to spine.

At the end, I don't have any negatives I can think of...Ti is good stuff, yes marks up after awhile, but it's the nature of things.

As to the 710 reference, it's a close cousin, I agree with that and might prefer this over the McHenry, as the S30V blade has less recurve and is a heckuva lot easier to sharpen than D2 is, at least for me.

Good knife, If you guys don't have one, you should get one.
