i just got number 311 of 500. -this is the first BM ever that i have not had to adjust the pivot as it came from the factory. i am super picky, and it is easy to flick yet locks up 100% tight with no play. -the action is perfectly smooth, although this is nothing new to axis locks, i would have to say this is the best i have ever dealt with. -on my ares, the blade is grinded perfectly , no blemishes of any sort -i did have to scrape away just a tad of g10 under the pocket clip, maybe 2 mm in forward of the clip screws. there was a definite ledge there that made the clip ride at an angle, although slight, i scraped it and now it is flush. it seems that on both sides they made the g10 this way on purpose with the little arrowhead cutout. i did replace the clip with an old school usa parkerized clip and i also replaced the plastic backspacer with some threaded american stainless steel barrel spacers. i have only been carrying this knife 2 days now,but i just love everything about it. it rides extremely well in the pocket. i will add more as i come to use it. keep your stick on the ice

Great Ares, congrats! Unfortunately all Leupold Arese come with serration, no PE edition. 730 PROTO #29/58 | 730 PPR/ATS-34 #0000/1000 | 730 | 730CFD2 | 730M2HS #50/500 | 730-801 ACMA #83/100 | 730-901 #19/100 | 730S PPR/ATS-34 #0938/1000 | 730S/ATS-34 | 730S | 730S KOTM Apr. 2000 | 730S KOTM Nov. 2000 | 730BT | 730SBT/ATS-34 | 730SBT | 732 | 732BK | 732D2BT #41/100 | 733-01 #295/500 | 733-02 #185/500 | 735 | 735S | 735BT | 735SBT | Leupold Ares Winewood #677/1500 | Leupold Ares Sand #179/500 | Bradley Alias I BT G-10 | 145/ATS-34 | 145/154CM | 145/440C | 600 Talon I #0476 | 600 Talon II | 672 | 672BX Collection photos

You could grind the serrations off and reprofile the blade, you just would have a thin blade after that.... Just kidding, pretty sure that's a hangable offense around these parts. --------------------------- "We are going to fight them fairly, and with honor...and my idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby harp seals!" -LtCol McCoy , USMC

I owned one of those and the sand colored G-10 is really nice, great grip and good looking knife overall. If only they came in a PE series I'd still have it, they should've done it 50/50... 350, 520, 525, 525BK-1101, 530, 580-1102, 580 Proto, 583-1, 585-1, 710-1, 710-2, 710D2, 710HS, 722, 732, 740, 740 Proto, 741, 745, 746, 746-1201, 750, 790, 800, 800HS, 805-1101, 812, 830, 831, 835HS, 840, 845, 890, 905, 907D2, 910, 910SCG, 912D2, 913D2, 12400 Proto, 12410, 14205, 14210, 40022-100. Sometimes I really do not understand why Benchmade insists on those serrated-only releases, like the 805HSSR for example. 220, 425BK, 425BK-600, 426, 426BK, 3200, 5000, 5000BK-702, 5500SBK-801, 520A, 520SBT, 520BK-1101, 525SBK-701, 707D2-600, 707-701, 710D2, 710-101, 730-801, 730CFHS, 740, 805-1101, 806-701, 806BK-801, 806BK-901, 806SBK-901, 806-1101, 913D2, 950-801, 950BK-901, 960BK-801, 960-WW, 12800BK-801, 14205, S30V Ritter, M4 Ritter
