Hey there Everybody Big Grin,

The Blueram234 coming atcha Live and Loud from Tallahassee Fl.

Todays review is on the Benchmade 1100-13 Damasteel Pen or (DSV) for short.
With a few observations as compared to the 1100-3 Stainless Steel Version or (SSV).
With a Cameo apperance by 1100-12, "The Blue Pen".

Most notably at first glance would be the color. Which for me was the only down side to the DSV.

I believe it would have been just a bit more impressive, had the pattern been more bold.
Or, perhaps it would have just been more distracting/Captivating.

One of the coolest things about the pattern is Not only the design but, that it adds a pleasing texture to the pen.
Lets think of it as "Fingerprint Like"

Sure with the knurling and the grooves both pens feel secure in your grip.
The DSV simply feels more pleasing as tho...
it is slightly holding on to you, as the ink flows from the Fisher Space ink cartridge onto the sheets of paper while you write.

I went ahead and took the time to write out the whole review before posting it. Taking turns writting with each pen.

I weighed both pens on an envelope scale accurate to with in a 10th of an ounce...
both come up 3.2 oz.

With that much weight, you are most certainly going to notice when it is not in your shirt pocket.

Which is how I carried the SSV for months during the day, by night I carried like this.

I didn't have the SSV with me for a clip board presentation picture as though I where delivering your pizza and asking you to, "sign here please"

Bic pens kept walking off or getting left behind.
Now it comes home everynight. The benifit of it being able to write verticaly, upside down, or underwater if I ever happen to deliver a pizza to AQUA MAN is terrific...
Wet or slightly oily reciepts are no match for this ink Cartridge.
Oh....or if your the type of person to jot a quick note on the pad of your thumb or palm of your hand....be prepared to scrub awhile to get it off.

FRESH INK about 3 Minutes old.

20 seconds of FINGER NAIL SCRUBBING later and it looks like this

So, if you scribble that hot girls number down while you're at the club...and happen to use the bathroom, it won't wash off right away. Big Grin

Also another very noticable difference between them is the tactical point.

From Pen Review

The DSV holds the pen cap with "NO' wiggle on the Tactical end. even after being there for several moments and waitting for th vacum effect to wear-off as on the SSV. It is still stuck.
I am guessing it has to do with the flat section at the widest point of the cone of the tac. point.

The cap while on the ink end of the pen still has some movement...but less than the SSV.
Willing to bet that if and when BM releases a Ti version of the pen they will have remedied the problem or as the time goes on they may simply refine the tip shape to minimize the cap movement.

I'm running Black ink in the DSV and blue ink in the SSV.
As great as both pens are, They have done NOTHING to improve my handwritting. LOL Big Grin

The DSV PHOTOGRAPHS Very well Cool

PRICE: we all know we can find a "Deal", Which I did, Sometimes it's not what you know...but who you know Wink
BUT for this point I will use the BM MFG price for the pens.

SSV $180.00
DSV $250.00
$70.00 dolar difference

Is the DSV worth $70.00 dollars more then the SSV?

This is really only something you can justify to yourself.

As for me...I just celebrated 2 consecitive years of sobriety. with a cumlitive 13 years over the last 14.

So...., Watching those $$$'s disappear off my checking account brought a rather LARGE smile to my face....

Knowing that instead of hehehe "PEEING" it away
or watching it "Go Up In Smoke"
I had instead invested in not only a
TACTICAL Tool but, a piece of Art that writes.

I would have some of my pictures Blown up and printed on Glossy photo paper, framed and Hung on the wall... lol
if she'd let me. hehe Smiler

I'll be the first one to congratulate you on the good review and nice pics.
I really like the pen but it is a little expensive for me.
What knife is that in the last picture?
Thanks for sharing and keep on the straight path,
it will always take to a good place.

Hey there archer,
Thank you. The knife is the 525-81

http://www.benchmade.com/products/525-81

Some of the photos where really great.
A few not as good as I wanted but, eh
They got the job done.

I quit drinking venti white chocolate mochas from Starbucks
About August. Switching to just a black drip.
Usually "Pike". I bring my stainless steel cup. Most often I get charge for a refill. Been known to score a freebie now and again.
I atop in about 6 nights a week...so you might say,"I'm a regular".

And that's how I saved up to by my pen.
God bless
