My original, 21-22 month old, plain 755 is still a keeper - and still has the 35% lock engagement it had as new, despite nearly 24/7 EDC duties. My wife thought a 'spare' was a great Christmas gift - and it was a shock Sunday AM. Closer inspection found a flaw in the otherwise perfect MPR. It's engagement was limited by the 'ledge' (overhang) on the lockbar. A slight vertical blade click could be heard, too. Is the stop bar, bolt under the clip, an eccentric, ie, allows some adjustment, or does this example go back for exchange or credit? I really don't want to send this thing 'home' for a 'visit'... the cost and aggravation, etc. Thanks for your suggestions! I would call Benchmade's 1-800 number and explain to them what is going on with your 755. If your knife is indeed flawed, I am sure they will take care of you on there dime. There CS is excellent. _________________________ Charter Member #3 Lum Lunatics : Ship's Sniper Member of "The Society for the Preservation of The AFCK"

Check out the stop pin. It can be adjusted as needed. You'll see a T6 screw that goes right into the pin. Go slow, maybe 1/16 of a turn at a time until you find the sweet spot. Same pin adjustment system can also be found on 760 LFTi and all BM knives with Nitrous AO mechanism. Very simple and effective ____________________________ Knock, knock. "Who's there?" "Me!" "Me? Well... I got brave - removed the clip. I can move the pin from the side - it's loose as a goose! Choose a position - it'll change. I'll have to find an ignition wrench to fit it - and try to tighten it. The first flat I tried gave ~35% engagement, so happiness prevails in sharp-dom. Thanks Rx! Happy New Year! That little hexagonal stop pin is a simple wonder. Saves time and money. I found the problem... the black stop pin bolt was cross threaded! I got it out - and borrowed the silver bolt off my mature 755 - voila, fixed - it tightens! The early threads on the black bolt didn't look so good under a magnifier, so I 'chased' them - slowly - with the mature 755's stop pin - slowly in & out, then put them back in their respective original stop pins. Problem totally solved! The fault? Hurried assembly - bolt cross threaded - stop pin loose as a goose - should have been caught in a cursory inspection. Best of all, no trip back home for my new knife! Thanks for the suggestion, Rx! And, Joe, I gotta love that multifaceted stop pin. Another hex stop pin problem. Sounds like a bad design.

Hex or elliptical stop pin - a cross threaded screw would have had the same result. I am just glad the forethought of an adjustment was included in the design. Most of my early BM's were delivered dull as butter knives - they have all since been razors. Maybe the sharpener installs stop pins now... I am amazed, now that I look over other knives. Big buck framelocks, like my Boker Haddock, Pipsqueak, Titan Liteweight Defender, and Worker; CRK Umnumzaan; and ZT-0301 & 0551, none have an adjustable stop pin. The CRK small Sebbie's pin is secured to both sides, but is likely highly concentric. So, is BM's adjustable stop pin a great feature... or an unnecessary/easily misadjusted feature?
