I was waiting for this thing since i saw it in the 2009 catalog, but these small stupid things drive me crazy, like the pivot under the scales and the pocket clip screws only in the scales...

You guys know this is a $120.00 MSRP knife? This puts it a step up of the $90 Mini Grip or Mini Presidio Ultra, but WAY below any of the G10 or aluminum AXIS knives. Even the assisted Stryker is $140 (no AXIS). This knife is a great deal!

I know it is, that's why I ordered one Smiler
That, and the fact that it's one of the first Axis Assist knives coming out, at an affordable price. But, I would have gladly paid a little more for G10 on it. Maybe Benchmade will come out with a nice set of G10 scales for it as an upgrade! Eeker

For all those waiting for the 585 like myself, this is what Benchmade's answer was to my inquiry:

"We unfortunately are not able to provide an exact ship date. I can only tell you that once we have satisfied dealer orders and built the knives they will begin shipping. We have never provided exact ship dates until within a week of. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause."

I wish other companies would adopt this practice. Most others make promises on ship dates and then don't deliver, leaving the customer angry or disappointed.

So does this mean the dealers will receive them first?

It does sound like that, dealers first and then into the flow. And it's smart customer service to actually say they can't promise a shipping date...I totaly agree with that.

BTW - on reaching BM in general, I've found much faster responses to questions by calling instead of writing.

I'm really impressed by the response time from them. I emailed them 8pm-ish Friday night, I got a response today, Monday morning 11am. Not too shabby! Thank you Benchmade.

So when they say "dealers", do they mean retailers like certain Web shops like maybe KW? Please say yes Smiler
