Very nice kit & very nice photos So like, "if you were on an island and you could only take one..." Seriously, in terms of grip (not blade), which one feels better to you (Bone or Rift)? |

I've got the large version, green and black scales. I'm a sucker for beefy blades and folders, so this one suits me to a "T."
At .125," the blade is stout. It is also, hands down, the sharpest blade I've encountered. The kind of sharp that with even normal, careful handling habits still managed to nick me and I didn't notice until a little of the red stuff welled up on the cut. It's my new EDC, not just because it's new, but because it's perfect for my uses and preferences. Best, heekma |

I just got the smaller 15030-1 in trade and was thinking of swapping the blade out of one of my 525's, but after using it for kitchen chores last night gave that idea up, those D2 blades are real slicers. And yeah, sharp as heck.
Benchmade's doing those little bevels with more precision than I remember over this last few years, same as used on the 585-1. And sharp as heck. Now I want the larger version too. Great knives and the G-10 handles are really good, providing easy access both in and out of the pocket. 350, 520, 525, 525BK-1101, 530, 530-901, 580-1102, 580 Proto, 583-1, 585-1, 635, 710-1, 710HS, 710D2, 722, 732, 740, 740 Proto, 741, 745, 746, 750, 760, 790, 800, 805-1101, 806BK-901, 812, 830, 831, 835HS, 840, 845, 905, 907D2, 910, 910SCG, 912D2, 913D2, 12400 Proto, 12410, 14205, 14210. Whats your preference, the scales of the 525-701 or the mini bone. I got a mini bone on order, should ship to me this week, so I may be doing some swapping. The smoother texture of the g10 (at least in the pics) leads me to believe it will be easier on my pockets than the -701 scales. Boomerangs 'n Butterflies: An Osborne Alliance | Member #960 |

I just picked one up (currently in Miami and got it from Bass Pro Shops, Dolfin mall). A very nice knife and my first D2 blade, interesting take on the "drop-point" style. Quite a heavy-feeling knife, 5.6OZ it's heavier than a 710... o_O FYI, I'm not a big fan of "green", but the green in the Bone Collector is very subdued and in all but the brightest of lights, appears grey. Great knife and at $120 a good deal! I'll be writing a review on it when I get back home. |

Two different handle scales, both excellent, I prefer G-10 over alumimum though so give the nod to the Bone. 350, 520, 525, 525BK-1101, 530, 530-901, 580-1102, 580 Proto, 583-1, 585-1, 635, 710-1, 710HS, 710D2, 722, 732, 740, 740 Proto, 741, 745, 746, 750, 760, 790, 800, 805-1101, 806BK-901, 812, 830, 831, 835HS, 840, 845, 905, 907D2, 910, 910SCG, 912D2, 913D2, 12400 Proto, 12410, 14205, 14210.
