True.

But there are a fair number of tipped Military model knives out there.

The 741 is a dandy slicer - mine sliced and diced all the fixin's for a cold-cut sub with aplomb Smiler.

I was out cutting some boxes up and noticed that the Onslaught is akin to the full-size 800 series knives as far as grip goes.

Anyone else notice/observe similar?

I was out cutting open a box (new drill press - lots of plastic and tape) and my 741 was so sharp and such a slicing machine it was slicing right through the cardboard and I didn't even notice it.

After you wrote that I pulled out one of each to compare. Yes, they are both big and comfortable. The 741 is, of course, about a half inch bigger. I like em both. Smiler

i checked out one of these yesterday... I admit I was tempted to get it to play with but the urge to be a pirate just wasn't strong enough. Key for me was the weight... almost 7oz. Very cool, though, and kudos to BM for continuing to offer a wide range of product. I would have liked to do a size comparison photo between this model and my Impel. I think the onslaught would edge it out. Smiler

I just got my Onslaught last week and have carried it everyday since.

There is no play in the blade and it did come extremely sharp from the factory.

For some reason I like a bigger EDC knife, but I generally carry two knives. A small one and then a big brother. I have no idea why I do this, but it just seems like a habit now.

I haven't really noticed the weight and I am always dressed in khakis or similar style dress casual pants.

I am glad I decided to buy one. Everyone that has gotten a chance to play with it has offered to buy it or is going to buy one for themselves. I guess that says something about the balance between heft, looks, and carrying ability.
