Does anyone know if benchmade is going to make a mini-torrent? I like my mini-barrrage but I would like something a little more reliable but the full size torrent is too big. If they made a mini torrent, that would be the number one knife on my wish list.

Hello Jarrod,

I have a question about your statement: "I like my mini-barrrage but I would like something a little more reliable."

What's your opinion based on? My 585 is rock solid and after breaking in is a really good knife.

I've owned an 890 and liked it, but think the Axis AO's smoother and a stronger lock as well.

Curious to get your feedback, thanks...

Not a big deal but I had one of the AXIS lock springs come loose and it wouldn't lock up tight. I sent it back and they repaired it, sharpened it, and replaced the clip. It's still a great knife (my favorite) but I figured the torrent would be less prone to failure being it has fewer springs and moving parts to break. I held a torrent and it feels like a tank but it's a little bigger than I'd like.

Thanks...and understood. The Nitrous mechanism does have it's good points (many...) and there aren't any springs to mess with, that's true.

Glad Benchmade customer service took care of your 585.

You have company in liking the smaller models, I'm with you on that subject.

My two cents ..... I have one assisted knife , the 14460.
I think its awsum even if it is only 154cm (cant be a steel snob all of the time)
It opens with ease , its slim , and has a great blade shape.
I actually , just wanted to razz Joe about saying he liked small models ...... remember what they say Joe ...... people who like small Razzer

We have the mini Strikers that are awesome. Nitrous system gets a bad rap.
