Thanks Marthinus. when you get your Bone Collector please give us a review to the 550 vs the BC for actual use...that would be cool.

I have a Bone Collector that should arrive very shortly. I want to try D2. 154 CM is a great steel and it has served me well, but one has to try new things.

Hunting here is great, the Safari hunting experience is going to be expensive and only a few do the 'what you see in the movies' approach, other hunting farms take a different approach where you cater for yourself, they provide shelter and water but the rest is up to you. Those I enjoy because it makes you appreciate the beauty and hardness of it all that much more. Its pretty much the same as the approach taken on the hunting shows on ESPN I have seen. But there is a lot more to pick from then just white tail or mountain goat (sorry, but those are permanently hunted on the shows so I can be wrong!)

Thanks for all the comments guys!

That second option where the guys provide water and shelter is the rought I would like to go.. Thats how I have done it when I go on a weekend/week camping trip, weather it be close by in the smokies or somewhere out west. We just take camping supplies and water and we depend on our surroundings and natural resources like the streams (native trout) and the wild game around us as our source of food. I think we see eye on what "real hunting" is all about. I agree with you when hunting in that aspect it really makes you have alot more respect for nature all living things and "the hunt"

Oh yeah let us know what you think of that bone collector, I have been thinking about picking one up myself.. Big Grin
