Nice review Jon very well said. The Bone Collector folders really have alot going for them. The combination of the scuplted G10 scales, backspacer and D2 blade really make it a tank of a folder.

Thanks again guys. Glad you enjoyed it Smiler.

I wouldn't go so far to say it's like a Grip, just the blade (as I said earlier, the blade thickness, and shape of the first generation of mini grips, which I liked very much, is where I got that from). The rest of it is pretty much Presideo. So far as the Rift comparison, I think maybe just the two toned scales, and that's about it. Given the wholeness of the lines on the handle, I can't see any resemblance shape wise, to the Rift (the Rift breaks off undernieth the handle, which I guess is the spot where you park your pinky). Even the organic texturing between the two isn't the same. That's how I see it anyway (if I missed something, please feel free to point out what I missed Smiler).

Thus far, this thing is still impressing me. I sliced up some chicken thighs I cooked on the grill for the kids, and it did a bang up job. And this morning, I cut a sheet of aluminum foil, and the edge didn't even break a sweat. Stayed the same (not that foil is this big time edge eater like say, carpeting would be, but I was expecting something, and I didn't get it Big Grin).

Did notice another remarkable trait. I was carrying a Spydie Chinnook today in my pocket, with the Bone riding shotgun in my watch pocket (again, barely noticed it was there, and it hid itself fairly well Wink ). I was waiting for my wife to come out with our daughter at the local Cracker Barrel, and cause I was bored, I pulled em both out, and I could have been mistaken, but from the spine view of both, side by side, I could have sworn that the Bone's thickness was a hair thicker than the Chinook. My eyes could have been deceiving me, but it sure looked like it.

With that said, I think this thing can be classified as one of those "little big knives" that you hear about so often (I remember the first time I came across the term was when I had read an article on the then-new Lil Temperence offerings from Spyderco). This knife has similar attributes.

Great post! I still use my large BC though it does have some major discoloration on the blade (just some character marks!) Great knife for the price IMO.

If you think the two-color green/black 15030-1 mini-BC is handsome, you should see the -2 variant in walnut - wow! Sadly, it cost me twice as much... my wife had to have one, too. Great pocketable EDC. Good review!

Mine arrived today and, even though I haven't had it a full day, I'm loving it! And, of course, everything about it is exactly as you describe, Jon. Thanks for such a great post, it got me more familiar with the knife than I could have gotten with it on my own in a few days.
